You can still find parts of the old Nurburgring southloop to the south east of the new GP track. a big chunck of the southloop was lost with the construction of of the new GP track in the 1980's. The map on our page Northloop 1 clearly marks the part of the southloop you can still see, and walk along. The roads are ony open for access to car parking when there are events taking place on the GP track. It is then possible to drive down part of the southloop. Here we have included an old video and some photo's from a tour we did for the Porsche 924 owners club who were lucky enough to be able to drive down part of the southloop.
